24hr Race| 2nd - 3rd Mar 2019 | Witzenberg
The first race of the 2019 A1 South Africa series is the WCAD 24 on 2-3 Mar held in Tulbagh, Witzenberg near Cape Town. There is a hunger for adventure in the Western Cape and WCAD are ready to deliver an exceptional adventure race to kick off the 2019 season. There will be a shorter course as well, to welcome newbies to the sport.

30hr Race | 15-17 June | Gariep Dam
The 2nd race of the South African Series is a new race by race director Adrian Saffy, the A1 Gariep Adventure Race, presented by Pure Adventures. It will be held at the Gariep Dam area which borders the Free State, Northern and Eastern Cape. Race HQ will be at the River Destiny Lodge.
Teams can expect a tough 250km race over harsh landscapes. You will be challenged with navigation and you will get to know the not-so-flat side of the Freestate.

24hr Race | 13th - 14th July | Loskop Dam
The 3rd race of the A1 South African Series is the Nevarest 24 on 13-14 July.
Set in the Loskop Dam Nature Reserve, situated in the Olifants River valley, about 55 km north of Middelburg, and comprises hilly bushveld, centered on the Loskop Dam. The Dam was established in 1939 in the Mpumalanga area. This 150km course involving Mountain Biking, Trail Running/Hiking, Paddling, Kloofing/Canyoning & 1 or two surprise challenges taking you to some awesome spots!
The race will consist of various legs which will have control points (CP’s) along the route that teams need to collect, the route between CP’s are at the team's discretion and will be self-navigated with the use of Topographic and other maps. Between each leg teams will arrive at the Transition points (where there will be basic support and security) and teams will change disciplines and leave on the next leg. The race is expected to take the leaders around 16-18hrs to complete, with the race cutoff time being 24hrs.Race Over / See Results days, hours, minutes, seconds
30hr Race | 9th - 11th Aug | Garden Route
The 4th race of the South African Series is Vasbyt. The stunning forests surrounding the Garden Route town of Knysna provides the ideal location for the Vasbyt 24hr, hosted by the Merrell Adventure Addicts. Now in its fourth year, this overnight 30 hr cut off race, will test teams as well as provide fantastic experience and skills of navigation, night racing and teamwork.

30hr Race | 18th - 20th Oct | KwaZulu-Natal
The series finale for A1 SA 2019 is Cyanosis AR on 18 - 20 Oct in the Tugela Valley in the centre of the KwaZulu-Natal. Cyanosis Adventure Racing Team, one of South Africa’s premier AR teams, returned in 2018 to race organization after a 9-year hiatus to be part of the inaugural A1 Series. The team previously hosted 100-300km races along the edge of the Drakensberg mountains above KZN, but are now venturing into the heart of the province to explore the home of the Zulu and the Avocado farmer.
The 2019 race will be approximately a 160 km course and will push the top teams to finish in around 20 hrs with a cut off time of 30 hrs.Enter Here days, hours, minutes, seconds
